This has always been my destiny

My tears were gradually replaced with a sense of responsibility that I hadn’t contemplated before. In front of me, I had wolves and she-wolves alike, looking at me with great curiosity. Some with suspicion, stubbornness, and disbelief, but the others part that was the majority, could not hide their surprise, satisfaction, and could even say joy. I was moved.
Many of them were in their animal form, so I could only feel their energy flowing towards me, as if I had been a part of them for a long time. The fear I felt seeing them reunited evaporated, leaving me wanting to be with them. My wolves. My instinct.
One of the wolves slowly approached me, ears flattened and tail tucked between its legs. I noticed that it wasn’t me who caused such a reaction, but my possessive and protective mate who was next to me, emitting vibrations, warning his wolves not to approach. But this wasn’t going to work, so I took a step forward and the wolf that was near me saw my action as a sign, and without thinking about it any more he approached me, rubbing his side on my legs. My animal was excited. This was what it had been born for. To be the Luna of all of them. I felt it, as were all the wolves present.
Michael watched the interaction with surprise, but at the same time vigilant in case something happened. Yet, I had the confidence that the wolves would approach me because they were accepting and recognizing me as part of the pack.
Another wolf approached and did the same as the one before. The two of them sniffed me until exhaustion, and it was then that more wolves approached. Some who were in their human form gave way to their beast and came towards me. My heart and mind were slowly processing this, as I never imagined standing here, in front of my pack. Mine.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Michael, wanting to know if he was as ecstatic as I was. But he didn’t show anything, instead, his gaze was fixed on the surrounding wolves. Always watching. He made me smile. I adore him so much.
I returned my gaze to the front and managed to see Ruth’s silhouette in the middle. She smiled at me, and I swore I could see tears in her eyes. According to her, it was time for a change. And without seeing it, I felt Logan’s animal approaching. Everything was clear. The pack had chosen me as their Luna. Not only because I was Michael’s fated mate, but because my wolf was dominant.
My eyes watered, but this time I bit my tongue to keep from shedding tears. I wanted to look strong in front of everyone. Be their support and inspiration. Their matriarch. The icing on the cake was when I saw a young wolf approaching. She was black like her father and all the pack members, but I recognized her immediately. Susie.
She approached my legs like all the others, impregnating me with her essence, and she, learning mine. I touch her fur, letting her know that she and her father would always be my priority. Then she left, just as she arrived.
And after welcoming the wolves for a long time, one by one they withdrew, until only Michael and I were left. We both looked at each other and with his smile, he told me we had accomplished so much. Even saw a glow in his eyes, proud of me.
That day was incredible. Michael gave me a tour of the entire territory. I marvelled at the self-sufficiency of this small community. They had everything from bakeries, beauty salons, hairdressers, stores, shoes, clothes, and everything you could need. He even took me to buy ice cream. Together, my mate and I also talked to some of the members who were ready to do it. All of them gave their opinions on topics that no one usually talked about. Every time I was further interested and delved into the complications that so many little details caused.
Once we finished the tour, and on our way to the office, a group of women is gathered in a corner, and among them was Roxana. The last time I had contact with her, nothing was OK. But I was not going to cower. Michael didn’t stop either, but we confidently walked towards them. The four women observed us walk by without saying anything, tilting their heads slightly. Michael answered with a nod and nothing further was said. We passed them, and at a good distance from them, I asked Michael, “Who are the women who were with Roxana?”
“Mm, they are the wolves that, together with Laura and Roxana, are dedicated to the administration of the pack. The one at Roxana’s left is Miranda. The one with short shoulder-length hair is Karla and the one with pink pants is Cintia. The five are very close, always covering their backs. They work well, and I’ve never had a single complaint about them. And I’m afraid now, with the absence of Laura, the responsibilities will relapse in them. Then I advise you to continue doing your magic and gain their trust because when you are officially part of the pack, all that work will be yours”, Raising his eyebrows, Michael said, making me laugh.
"Did you say that to discourage me, to give up? Well, no, Sir. That is not what I am going to do because I arrived here to stay. I hugged his waist and we continued walking the streets. The ones that I already felt were mine.
